The course is delivered by an approved training centre. Once you hold the right qualification, you apply separately to the Security Industry Authority.

Some future courses may be delivered directly and others by partner training centres. Every course is delivered by a centre approved by the relevant awarding organisation.
Are providers SIA approved?
The SIA does not approve training providers. Licence-linked training centres are approved by the relevant awarding organisation.
Does passing the course guarantee an SIA licence?
No. Passing the correct qualification is one part of the licensing route. The SIA applies its own identity, criminality and other licensing checks.
Do I need first aid before I start?
Door Supervisor and Security Guard learners must hold suitable valid first-aid evidence before the licence-linked training begins. Every listing states whether first aid is included, available as an add-on, or must already be held.
How much does the SIA licence cost?
£204 per licence from 1 April 2026, paid to the SIA when you apply. This is separate from the cost of training, which is shown on each listing.
