The categories
- Door Supervisor: door-supervision activity and broader front-line roles. Training
- Security Guard: guarding roles where Door Supervisor activity is not required. Training
- Public Space Surveillance (CCTV): relevant CCTV surveillance activity. Training
- Close Protection: protective-security work. Training
- Cash and Valuables in Transit: secure transport of cash and valuables.
- Key Holding: holding keys and responding to alarms.
- Vehicle Immobilisation: Northern Ireland only, and licensed for one year rather than three years.
- Non-front-line: for certain directors, managers and others involved in supplying security services. Qualification requirements differ.
Front-line and non-front-line
Front-line licences cover people carrying out licensable activity. Non-front-line licences apply to certain managers and directors. Do not assume every route needs the same training.
