Application for Premises Licence
Here’s what you can expect from our service:
- A thorough risk assessment, with ongoing communication between you, the responsible authorities, and our team.
- Preparation and submission of a tailored, flexible, and valuable Operating Schedule that meets licensing objectives.
- Submission of all application forms to the relevant authorities.
- Handling of any objections or representations during the 28-day consultation period on your behalf.
- Preparation of public notices for display at your premises and publication in a local newspaper.
Application Process Stages

Initial Consultation
Complete the questionnaire to provide us with key details such as:- Licence holder (individual or company).
- Proposed Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).
- Opening hours and licensable activities.
- Operating schedule basics (how your business will uphold the four licensing objectives).

First Draft
We will prepare the first draft of your application, considering local licensing and policy requirements. We may consult you further if there are conflicts or special considerations in your area. -
Submission
Once you approve the application, we’ll submit it to the licensing authority and begin the 28-day statutory consultation period. We’ll monitor progress and mediate with any authorities or individuals raising concerns. -
Advertising
We’ll prepare and arrange for the publication of public notices, both in the local newspaper (within 10 days of submission) and for display at your premises throughout the consultation period. -
Consultation Period
If there are no outstanding objections by the end of the consultation period, the licence will be granted.
Licensing Solutions Admin Fee (per site):
- £785+ VAT
Disbursements (estimated):
- Licensing Authority Fee: Approximately £190 (dependent on your property’s rateable value). See here for details.
- Newspaper Notice Fee: Around £150–£250.
What’s Not Included:
- Preparing premises plans: While plans need not be professionally drawn, they must meet licensing requirements (scale 1:100 unless otherwise agreed, showing entrances, exits, alcohol storage, licensable areas, and firefighting equipment).
- Representation at a Licensing Authority hearing (if objections cannot be resolved). While rare, representation can be arranged if required.
