How Much Does a Personal Licence Cost?

Applicants for a personal licence must submit the application to the local authority that they currently reside.

The application to obtain your personal licence, the applicant must be 18 years of and need to submit the following:

  • Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders Qualification Certificate (The original) – Click here to book your Licensing Solutions BIIAB APLH exam
  • Personal Licence application form – Click here to download
  • Disclosure and Barring Service (this replaces the CRB check)  - Can be obtained here for England and Wales. The cost of the DBS is £23 and the check is valid for 28 days.
  • Two passport-size photos - Signed by a professional to prove the identity of the applicant - Click here for the list of who can sign
  • Application fee - £37
