Does a premises licence expire?
A Premises Licence in England and Wales does not normally expire after a fixed number of years.
Once granted, it can continue in force unless something happens that causes the licence to lapse, be surrendered, suspended, revoked or otherwise cease to have effect.

Do I Have to Renew a Premises Licence Every Year?
Normally, no.
However, Premises Licence holders have to pay an annual licence fee to the licensing authority.
Paying the annual fee is different from submitting a new Premises Licence application every year.
What Can Happen to a Premises Licence?

What Happens When a Business Is Sold?
The Premises Licence does not automatically become the property of the new business owner.
The licence should be formally transferred to the new holder. The DPS may also need to be changed separately.
